Taking emotional
intelligence seriously.

The Institute of EI
Our Story
Born from a belief that EI deserves better
Emotional intelligence has historically been misunderstood, inconsistently taught, and often reduced to superficial measurement tools. Despite decades of evidence showing its impact on leadership, performance and wellbeing, EI has been dismissed as a soft skill and kept out of formal education.
At the same time, rising burnout, anxiety, workplace psychological injury and disconnection highlight a growing gap between technical capability and human capability. The need has never been greater.
The Institute of Emotional Intelligence was founded to address this gap — through evidence-based education, practical application, and formal accreditation. We are the first accredited provider of a dedicated emotional intelligence qualification, positioning EI as a legitimate, evidence-based human capability.
Our mission
Human Capability. Elevated.
The Institute exists to take emotional intelligence seriously — grounding it in evidence, teaching it with rigour, and equipping people to apply it where it matters most: in leadership, work and life.
Our ambition is to reset the standard. To redefine how emotional intelligence is taught, recognised and valued. And to ignite a global movement of humans leading with awareness, connection and purpose.
Evidence-based
Everything we teach is grounded in the science of emotional intelligence. No pseudoscience, no superficial tools — just rigorous, peer-reviewed research applied in practice.
Formally accredited
We are the first provider of a dedicated, nationally accredited emotional intelligence qualification — establishing EI as a legitimate professional credential.
Practically applied
Our programs are designed to develop real, transferable competencies. Graduates leave with skills they can apply immediately in their professional and personal lives.

What makes us different
Not another EI tick-box course
The EI space is crowded with superficial tools and inconsistent teaching. We exist to change that.
Here’s what sets the Institute apart.
01
The only dedicated EI qualification
We are the first accredited provider of a qualification dedicated entirely to emotional intelligence — not a module within a broader course, but a full credential recognising EI as a standalone discipline.
02
Scientific rigour, practical outcomes
Our curriculum integrates peer-reviewed EI research with real-world application. Graduates don’t just understand EI — they can demonstrate it, measure it, and apply it in their professional context.
03
Inclusive and accessible
Emotional intelligence isn’t just for executives. Our programs are designed to serve a broad range of individuals, professions and communities — online, self-paced, and built for working professionals.
