Online Learning Standards

Last updated: May 2026 Applies to: All students, prospective students and website visitors

1. Introduction

Our organisation delivers online training and assessment in a way that ensures learners studying online achieve equivalent quality outcomes to those studying through any other mode of delivery. All online courses are designed so that learning and assessment remain clearly aligned to the stated learning outcomes, and that evidence of learning is valid, sufficient, authentic and current.

Online delivery is planned and documented in The Institute of EI course and assessment strategies, including mode of delivery, volume of learning, interaction patterns, trainer/coach support, and required learning resources. We structure our online programs using a learning platform and virtual classroom tools to provide engaging, contextualised learning activities, not just static content, so that each activity and assessment task contributes directly to the development of workplace‑relevant skills and knowledge.

The Institute of EI ensures online learners receive regular trainer/coach contact, progress monitoring and timely feedback, and learner support (including language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills support) is accessible regardless of location. Our enrolment processes identify individual learner needs, including digital literacy, and we provide additional support or reasonable adjustments where required so that all learners can participate effectively in online learning.

To maintain integrity in online assessment activities, The Institute of EI uses appropriate methods to confirm learner identity and the originality of work (for example, supervised online activities, questioning and verification processes) while ensuring assessment conditions are consistent across all delivery modes. We continuously monitor, review and improve our online delivery and assessment practices through learner and client feedback, internal review and validation activities, to ensure a consistently high‑quality online learning experience.
